As a mirror auditor, you will be given the responsibility to compare, at least once a week, the content of a mirror site to the content of the master site, and then notify me of any discrepencies or violations of copyright you find. I'll take it from there. So you don't have to know anything about computers, or web administration, just be observant, dedicated and know how to use a browser and e-mail.

We are utilizing the services of volunteer mirror administrators. We need to verify that the mirror is set up correctly, operates correctly, is kept current, and does not violate any copyright. Setting up a mirror site is relatively easy for a knowledgeable webmaster, just download the zip archive to the PC, unzip it, and FTP files to the webserver. But we need to audit the mirrors just to make sure that someone doesn't modify the content and try to pass it off as the real "A. Tax Bill" site. That's where mirror auditors (you) come into play.

When you volunteer, I will tell you the location of the master site. I will also assign to you "your own" mirror site. On a regular basis, at least once a week, you will compare the master site to "your mirror" site. You will follow a checklist to compare certain text on particular pages. If you find anything significantly different from the master site, you will send me an e-mail notification, otherwise you're done for another week.

Send e-mail to auditors@sacto.com to volunteer to be a mirror auditor.
