Prop. 209 and 215

It's nice to see that Clinton is finally ignoring public
opinion and standing up for his beliefs. It's too bad that
his beliefs are opposite a majority of Californians and
the Constitution. Prop 209 (CCRI) was passed by a majority
of California voters, as was Prop 215 (marijuana). Prop 209
is a reflection of the 14th Amendment, not an afront to it.
Prop 215, however, has a much more interesting test to it.
In the words of , Barry McCaffrey, the head of our insane War
on Drugs, "We're going to outline a whole series of measures
that deal with the primacy of federal law." It'll be interesting
to see how Clinton attempts to sidestep the 9th and 10th amendments.
I hope the test proves that a majority of California voters has
a better understanding of the Constitution than our president does.
