Bill of Rights vs. 16th Amendment

In 1913, The 16th Amendment gave congress the power to lay and
collect income tax. Today, many people call for an end to the
present income tax because it is too complex and full of loopholes.
But the reason today's tax code should be trashed isn't
because it's a 7 and one half million word monument to
congressional politics. The reason the present tax code
should be trashed is because it violates the 1st, 5th and
7th amendments. Form 1040 violates the 1st amendment
right to privacy because it requires citizens to report to the
government private information. Since IRS files can be
opened with a court order, Form 1040 violates the 5th Amendment
freedom from self-incrimination.
Assets can be seized by the IRS without a jury trial,
violating the 7th Amendment.

One way to implement the 16th Amendment without violating
the Bill of Rights is with a flat tax. No deductions,
no graduated rates, no exemptions.
