Re "Medical marijuana advocate hails trial," Aug. 9: While I'm happy The Bee is following the trial of medical marijuana patients Steve and Michele Kubby in Placer County, I think it missed two important questions. First, just how much taxpayer money will Placer County spend prosecuting a case that clearly falls under Proposition 215? Second, just how obvious is the abuse of government power when an anonymous letter alone can spark a 6-month, multiagency investigation against a former gubernatorial candidate?
