In choosing to bar the Boy Scouts
from using school communication
channels because of their
"exclusionary policies," school board
president Don Saylor said he hopes
this will send the message that Davis
schools are inclusive. It's logic like
that which allows some parents to hit
their kids to prove that hitting is
wrong, the same logic that some
religions use to preach intolerance in
the name of God's love and the same
logic that allows some people to
actually believe that government can
tax its way to prosperity. The era of
Orwellian newspeak is here, just a
few years late.
